Sunset Village is located directly on Cape Cod bay in North Truro. We face Provincetown across the bay, and on a clear day you can see across the ocean to Barnstable.

The bay has advantages for swimming and sun bathing. The waters are calmer and safer, with virtually no undertow. The water temperature is warmer because it is shallower along the bay front. Most of the Beach Point section where we are located is private property, so there aren't the crowds that you will find at the public beaches.

At certain times you can see bluefish chasing baitfish along the beach, and we have even seen the hump backed whales passing within a couple of hundred yards of our beach.

We are sandwiched between the bay and the National Seashore sand dunes. As you look out across Shore Road, you will see Pilgrim Lake, which actually lies between us and the sand dunes. There is a bicycle/jogging trail accessed by High Head Road, which snakes through the dunes and ends at Head of the Meadow beach on the ocean side. You can walk to the trail, or there is a parking lot right there.

Provincetown is a truly unique experience. It has always attracted an eclectic crowd, beginning with artists and playwrights (including Eugene O'Neil) , to the beatnik crowd, to hippies, making "people watching" one of the great past times in "Ptown".

People come from all over New England to walk the quaint streets of this old fishing village, and to visit the shops and eat at the best restaurants on the Cape.

Besides the wonderful food and shopping, Provincetown offers theater and museums and a network of bike trails some 10 miles long that start at the center of town, wind through the National Seashore, and visit such places as the Race Point Coast Guard Station, Herring Cove Beach, and Province Lands Visitors Center.
